The main chamber at Winfield Lock (Kanawha River 031.10) will have intermittent
closures between February 6th and February 17th to replace the lock's top
anchorage. During this work period, the old chambers will be available for locking.
The main chamber of Lock 27 (Upper Miss 185) will be closed from January 4th, 2012
until March 15th, 2012, this may cause significant delay. The current delay is 10
hours. The auxiliary chamber will be available for locking.
On the Illinois River, the wickets are down at both Peoria and LaGrange Locks.
Lock 25 (Upper Miss 241.4
until March 15th for repairs.
The Tennessee River at mile 42 (Eggner's Ferry Bridge) is closed to navigational traffic
until further notice due to an accident.
Greenup Lock (Ohio River 341) main chamber will be closed for miter gate replacement
between June 4th and August 31st.
R.C. Byrd Lock (Ohio River 279) main chamber will be closed for gate casting
replacement between September 3rd and December 21st.
Meldahl Lock (Ohio River 436.2) will have a miter gate changeout between March 5th
and June 1st. This will result in the auxiliary chamber being closed during this period.
Markland Lock (Ohio River 531.5) main chamber continues to be out of commission
due to repairs. Average delay today is approximately 8 hours.
Bayou Sorrel Lock (Port Allen 36) will be closing during daylight hours for ongoing
construction until March.
Geological surveying will be conducted at Lower Miss 437.7 beginning on January
23rd and lasting until January 27th. The surveying will be taking place each day
between 07:00 and 17:00. Mariners are urged to transit this area with extra caution.
Effective immediately, repairs to the guidewalls at Leland Bowman Lock have been
postponed until further notice. The lock is presently open to navigation 24 hours a
day while damage to the west gates is being repaired.
Bayou Boeuf Lock (WC 093.30) will be closed daily from 07:00 until 17:00 for repairs.
Brazos Lock (WC400.8) - Will be closed starting today Nov.7th thru Feb.2012 0700-
1700 daily.

2011 Repair Schedule
ALLEGHENY RIVER
The C.W. Bill Young Lock (AR 014.50) will be closed for repairs between
May 2 and May 27, 2011. This will be a complete closure, there is no
auxiliary chamber.
ARKANSAS RIVER
Lock 8 (Mile 156) and Lock 9 (Mile 177) will be closed to navigation from August 29th
through September 11th.
OHIO RIVER AREA
Dashields Locks and Dam (Ohio River mile 13.3) = Auxiliary chamber will
be closed from 08:00 on April 25 until 16:00 on April 26, 2011. The main
lock chamber will remain open and only minor delays are expected.
JT Myers Locks and Dam (Ohio River mile 846.0) = The main lock
chamber is scheduled to be closed for repairs from April 4, 2011 through
April 15, 2011 and April 18, 2011 through April 29, 2011. Intermittent
closures will occur from April 30, 2011 through May 7, 2011. All traffic
will be passed through the auxiliary lock during the closure.
Smithland Locks and Dam ( Ohio River mile 918.5 ) = The left
descending lock chamber is scheduled to be closed for repairs from May
9, 2011 through May 26, 2011. During this period a repair crew will be
performing repairs to the miter gates and a maintenance inspection. All
traffic will be passed through the right descending lock during the
closure.
Markland Locks and Dam (Ohio River mile 531.5 ) = The auxiliary ( 600
foot ) lock chamber is scheduled for closure from June 6, 2011 through
June 25, 2011. During this period a repair crew will be performing
repairs to the miter gates. All traffic will be passed through the main (
1200 foot ) lock during the closure.
Markland Locks and Dam ( Ohio River mile 531.5 ) = The main ( 1200
foot ) lock chamber is scheduled for closure from July 11, 2011 through
September 16, 2011. During this period a repair crew will replace the
four miter gate leaves and associated machinery. All traffic will be
passed through the auxilliary ( 600 foot ) lock during the closure.
